Job: UX Designer / UX Consultant
We’re hiring a User Experience Designer (Perm. Full-Time or Part-Time. Mid-level or Senior) to join our growing team.
Fruto is a UX Design studio based in Oxford. We design intuitive interfaces and meaningful experiences for the web, mobile and emerging technologies. We work with global organisations and early stage start ups, giving us a nice variety of work, perfect to help us grow as designers and keep innovative.
We enjoy working with projects that makes positive contribution to society. We work with a variety of sectors, including healthcare and education.
Level: Mid-level or Senior (depending on experience)
Term: Permanent. Full-time or part-time (flexible hours)
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Remote (attending occasional meetings in Oxford and South-east UK)
The work
You’ll lead large-scale complex UX projects, from UX strategy, Design Ops to the delivery of UX techniques such as
Preparing, running and analysing User Research, such as user interviews, usability testing and card-sorting
Preparing UX Reviews and Heuristic Evaluations
Creating Information architectures and mapping out user journeys
Creating wireframes and clickable prototypes of websites and mobile apps
Creating user interface designs for websites and mobile apps
Leading clients meetings and workshops. This is a client-facing position.
[For senior] As a senior designer, you’ll be expected to regularly review and help improve Fruto’s UX techniques and tools and help maintain operational templates with the latest best practices
[For senior] You may be asked to represent the UX design discipline in new business meetings when needed
[For senior] You may be asked to help develop the UX skills of other designers in the team in a form of coaching/mentoring and project reviews when needed
About you
You have experience taking on complex and strategic UX design work
You keep up to date with the latest best practices and are regularly sharing those with the team and externally
You are able to communicate with different disciplines and stakeholders such as business, technology, and other functional areas
You can see the big picture around a clients’s and Fruto's business objectives and needs for UX
You’re able to create a UX strategy that is in-line with the business objectives and strategy
You can present confidently and communicate the value of UX to different audiences

Coaching. You’ll be working alongside Mariana, our Managing Director, and alongside a team of experienced UX/UI designers.
Location
Fruto is predominantly a remote team based in Oxfordshire. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we are not having any in-person meetings and we're all working from our own homes. In "normal" circumstances (ie. outside of the pandemic), you can work remotely from your home or from a co-working desk that we can provide in central Oxford. You must be able to attend in-person meetings in Oxford and client meetings in South-East England.
Working hours
Our standard full-time working week is 35 hours. Our core working hours are 10am until 3pm, being flexible either side.
